Theatre Guidelines
- Seating for each screening will begin approximately thirty minutes before the screening time. Seating is general admission, so come early for best selection. Note that some seats may be reserved for special guests of the Festival. Please respect these designated areas.
- All unclaimed tickets (if any) set aside for Festival participants will be offered for sale to the general public 10 minutes before each screening. If a screening is sold out, come wait in line and take your chances.
- Admission to the theaters may be restricted after the film has begun. Please arrive early.
- Each theater must be completely cleared of patrons between screenings.
Park & Ride
Parking. Parking on the University of Virginia Grounds is extremely limited. Make it easy on yourself: park in downtown Charlottesville and ride the free Festival shuttle buses. Parking in the Water Street Parking Garage and the adjacent lot will be half-price when you present your Festival ticket stub.
Shuttles. Two free shuttles run continuously between the three theatres, making complete circuits every thirty minutes. Schedules will be available in the Festival News and at all Festival Theaters.
Call For Special Assistance
Individuals with disabilities have appropriate access to all three Festival Theaters: Culbreth, Vinegar Hill, and Regal.
For the deaf, the University offers a Communications Device (TDD). Call 804-982-HEAR (4327) to be connected to a computer operator via the telephone line.
Merchandise
Posters and t-shirts for the 1998 Virginia Film Festival are available by phone, mail, and at the Culbreth Theater, and will be shipped via UPS after the Festival. Please specify t-shirt size.
Updates: Festival News and Website
Updated schedules will be posted here on the Festival's website, and in the Festival News, which will hit the streets on October 20. Available at all box offices, it will contain late-breaking program information and in-depth write-ups about each film and panel discussion.
