In Brief

The Virginia Film Festival annouces an exciting new program developed for aspiring Virginia filmmakers! Director Jeff Wadlow will oversee a rapid filmmaking workshop in which approximately twenty filmmakers will write, shoot, and edit their films in three days. The application deadline is October 5.

The Goal

Write, shoot and edit a short narrative film in 72 hours.

The Setup

Teams of three filmmakers will participate in a rapid filmmaking workshop to produce a narrative film in three days under expert guidance.

The Experts

Filmmakers will be overseen by Director Jeff Wadlow, the Charlottesville native whose feature film, Living the Lie, won the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Competition. He will be joined by his filmmaking team: Beau Bauman and Seth Gordon.


To Enter

Each team of three must submit the following:
- an entry form (found at the bottom of this page)
- a one paragraph statement of interest
- a short film made by one of the participants (cued to 10 min. viewing time)

- an $20 application fee in the form of a check made payable to UVA-Va Film Festival (to be supplemented by the $130 participation fee if the team is selected for the Project.)

Please be advised that the application fees are non-refundable and the films will not be returned. Once accepted into the program, each member of the team will be required to submit a Participant’s Agreement. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

The Deadline

Applications must be received in the Virginia Film Festival office by October 5th. Late applications will only be considered based on available space.
