In 1983, Gregory Nava completed his independent feature El Norte, which told the story of a Central American family’s emigration from Guatemala through Mexico to the U.S. (El Norte), presenting the experience through the eyes of the migrants. The day after its Festival presentation, El Norte will have several of its key sequences dissected and analyzed by the director, Gregory Nava, in conversation with Hamid Naficy. As always at the annual Regal Shot-by-Shot Workshop, you can expect lively audience participation in the commentary!
